the merry gourmet shop is open!
The clock ticked away and the time has finally arrived. The shop is open for business!
The shop is going to be starting out small. It’s important to me that I can vouch for anything that I’m selling, so in order to do that, I’m taking it slow. I do want to share one item, though, that’s made a difference in my kitchen — my electric scale.
As a scientist at heart, being precise is important to me. And in baking, precise measurements can sometimes make or break a dish. I must also confess that I really hate making a mess – something I always do when I try to spoon flour out into a measuring cup then level it off. Inevitably, I wind up with flour all over my counter – or on me. The EatSmart Precision Pro scale fixes that problem. It’s so much easier to pour flour into a bowl until that little digital display reads the exact amount I’m aiming for than have do to the spoon-then-level thing with flour.
Let’s say for example, that you wanted to make this fabulous pizza dough. If you had a scale like this, it would be a snap. Simply measure out 435 grams of all-purpose flour — yes, you can be that precise AND avoid making a mess all over your counter — and very soon you’re on your way to a great piece of pizza.
Or, you can make a great batch of roasted apricot scones. But you need a scale to get the measurements right. AND avoid the floury mess.
Can you tell I’m a bit of a neat freak?
So, if you want to give this scale a try for yourself, you can buy it right here. In my new shop! And, from now until August 16th, you can receive 25% off any OpenSky product by using the code EXCITE25.
Disclosure: OpenSky sent this complimentary product to me to review. I was under no obligation to write anything about it – good or bad – but since I happen to adore my kitchen scale, this one gets a positive review.

I like how you will be reviewing the items you list!
Thanks! That’s my goal, really. I don’t want to attach my name to something I can’t vouch for, so I’ll stand behind anything I sell.
What a fantastic idea… I’m usually not a fan of blogger “stores” because I’m like “Great, you like the product. But why?” I’m so glad that you go into detail about how to use it!
