Photography
Equipment
For the majority of my photos, I use my trusty Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi with a Canon EF 50mm f1.4 lens. I try to use natural light when at all possible. Because I work a full day, nighttime photography is often inevitable if I want to photograph any of our weeknight meals. I’m still working on a good solution for nighttime photos, but for now, the Canon Speedlite 430EX II Flash helps a bit. Sometimes I use a Lowel EGO light
with reflector.
When I’m away from home or too lazy to bring my Canon DSLR, I use a Canon PowerShot S90 digital camera. This was a recent purchase, and I’m still getting used to the camera. But, so far? I LOVE it. Seriously. As an example of what it can do, all of these photos in this post on Las Vegas dining were taken with the PowerShot. It’s fantastic in low light settings.
Photo Editing
When possible, I post photos that are as untouched as possible, but the reality is that most photos could benefit from a little editing. I have used Adobe Photoshop Elements in the past, and I found it to be pretty straightforward. Lately, though, I’ve been using Aperture for Mac, and I love it. It’s really easy to use, and I’m able to do anything I really want to do with it.
